HISTORICAL
GREECE Day
1 - Athens Arrival in Athens International
Airport. Meet and assist in the airport and transfer to the Hotel in Athens.
Arrival in Athens and to the Hotel . Check in. Overnight in Athens.
Day
2 - Athens
Breakfast. Departure in
order to visit Acropolis hill, so called the "Sacred Rock" of Athens,
which is the most important site of the city. During Pericles' Golden Age, ancient
Greek civilization was represented in an ideal way on this hill and some of the
most significant architectural masterpieces of the classical period were erected
on its ground.
The first habitation remains on the Acropolis date from
the Neolithic period.Over the centuries, the rocky hill was continuously used
as a cult place. The inscriptions on the numerous and precious offerings to the
sanctuary of Athena, indicate that the cult of the city's patron goddess was established
as early as the Archaic period (650-480 B.C.). Overnight in Athens. 
Day
3 - Athens Delphi Breakfast.
Departure for Delphi. During the Mycenaean period, the female deity of Earth
was worshipped in the small settlement of Delphi. The development of the Sanctuary
and oracle though began in the 8th century B.C. with the establishment of the
cult of Apollo and as a result, increased its Pan-Hellenic religious and political
influence. Place to which Heracles went after the tragic death of his
children, in order to consult the oracle about the course he should take. Apollo,
through the Pythia, counseled him to make for Tiryns and to put himself in the
service of King Eurystheus, for whom he should perform twelve Labours. When he
would complete this mission successfully, he would then be worthy of immortality.
It was the Pythia who at the moment of delivering the oracle gave the hero the
epithet "Heracles" which he would use henceforth, instead of his former
name.
Arrival in Delphi and visit the Archaeological site. Overnight in Delphi

Day 4 - Delphi - Olympia
Breakfast.
Departure for Olympia. City where Heracles used
the spoils of war from his campaign against King Augeias, to sponsor the famous
games in honour of the Olympian Gods. After
putting a fence around the precinct of the"Altis" the hero dedicated
it to his father Zeus, set up six altars for the twelve Gods of Olympos and created
a flat space around all these, in which the games and ceremonies would take place.
In other words Heracles on that time created the institution of the Olympic Games.
Arrival in Olympia and to the Hotel and check in. Rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Olympia. 
Day
5 - Olympia - Nafplio Breakfast.
Visit the archaeological site of Olympia. At noon departure for Nafplio.
On the way we will pass through some locations which Heracles visited in his eventful
life (Nemea, Tiryns). Nemea was a city devastated by a fearsome lion sprang from
Orthus and Echidna, which had been reared by Hera herself and had to be killed
by Heracles, as his first Labour. Arrival in Nafplio and to the Hotel
and check in. Overnight in Nafplio.

6 - Nafplio
Breakfast. Day
tour to Mycenae. In the 2nd mill. B.C., Mycenae was one of the major centers of
Greek civilization, a military stronghold which dominated much of the southern
Greece. The period of Greek History from about 1600 B.C. to about 1100 B.C., is
called Mycenaean, in recognition of Mycenae's leading position. Place to which
Heracles used to go after completing successfully every Labour, in order to present
to King Eurystheus the remnants of his efforts. Visit of the archaeological
site of Mycenae. In the afternoon return to Nafplio for overnight. 
Day
7 - Nafplio Breakfast.
Visit of Epidavros . Ancient Theater of Asklepiou Epidavros It is
one of the most important and beautiful archaeological places around Greece.
In
a green plain, surrounded by friendly mountains, a place of worldwide brilliancy
and culture, the Ancient theatre at the side of mountain Kinortiou, the miracle
of Epidavros, was built by the architect and sculptor Argous Poliklito the last.
It was built in two separate stages, the first at the end of the 4th century b.c.
and the second in the middle of the 2nd century, when the famous three part characteristic
of the Greek Theatre was finalized in Epidavros: concave - orchestra - stage.
The highest distance of the concave is 58m while the diameter of the orchestra
is about 20m. There are two friezes that separate into 13 stairs and 12 benches
at the lower level and into 23 benches and 22 stairs at the upper level.
Return to Nafplio for overnight. 
Day
8 - Nafplio - Athens Breakfast.
Deaprture for Athens . Arrival in Athens and to the Hotel. Check in. Last day
in Greece and you have options: you can either visit any archaeological site or
museum of the city, or you can take a walking tour in the narrow streets of the
old town of Athens just underneath Acropolis, or enjoy a tour at the attractive
shopping centre.

Day
9 - Athens - Mumbai Breakfast.
According to flights schedule transfer to the airport for flight back home.
