Athens:
At the center of the Greek mainland lies the prefecture of Attica,
known to most due to its capital, the interesting city of Athens.
This place gathers pieces from all the parts of the history of Greece,
since it remained the center of civilization and culture for many
centuries.
Athens is an important part of ancient Greek history, having set
the basis for the past two millenniums in European ascension and
culture. It holds returns of various eras that created the picture
of the modern world we see today, penetrating the streets and houses
and merging with the echoes of the past.
Places to visit in Athens are Parthenon on top of Acropolis Rock,
Lycabetus Hill, the various museums, the National Garden, Plaka
district with the traditional market Monastiraki, the Panathinaikon
Stadium and many other interesting sites, scattered around the districts
or hidden in the busy streets of Athens. For all the Night owls
Parties begin only at 0100 hrs which end at 0600 Hrs. Dinners begin
here only at 1200 Hrs. Nightlife is great here especially in the
center. You can also have a great time on one of the well-organized
beaches, which are only 4 km. away from Athens.
In the prefecture of Attica you can also find Piraeus, the most
important port of Greece and Athens' largest Port. It is the port
from where all the cruises in the Aegean begin.

Delphi:
home of the sanctuary and oracle of the god of light Apollo
was believed to the navel of the world by the ancient Greeks. Located
on Mt. Parnassos it is a picturesque setting surrounded by towering
mountains and the gulf of Itea as its backdrop.
Delphi is considered to be one of the most representational regions
of the country as far as natural beauty, archaeological findings
and the Greek historical background are concerned. The particularly
picturesque Delphi, pulsing with numerous spots of multifarious
interest, is regarded as one of the most appealing districts of
Greece, attracting innumerable visitors all year round.
All we can say is a visit to Greece is incomplete without a visit
to Delphi.

Olympia: is one of the
most popular destinations for tourists in Greece. The village of
Olympia itself is small with a population of abut 1,000 but of course
you'll find a collection of tourist shops, cafes, restaurants and
a Historical Museum of the Olympic Games. Olympia is also known
for the gigantic ivory and gold statue of Zeus that used to stand
there and be sure to witness the Olympic village.

Crete
(Knossos): Crete is the largest and southern-most island
in Greece. It's location guarantees a Mediterranean climate, one
of the mildest in Europe. Nearly a third of the land is under cultivation
producing citrus fruit, grapes for wine, chestnuts, cherries, almonds,
vegetables and nearly half of Greece's total olive oil.
Iraklion is the capital and business centre of the island and it
is a busy city. Many people stay here because of it's proximity
to Knossos, and to visit the very worthwhile Archaeological Museum,
one of the finest in the world. Most Greek Island cruise ships will
stop for a few hours at the harbour. But, as with all big cities
in Greece, you can find entertaining squares and streets to sit,
enjoy a drink and just people watch.
Crete has beautiful beaches and picturesque coves. On the east
of Crete you'll find Europe's only palm forest at the beach of Vai.
On the west, visit the underdeveloped Elefonisi Islet, and see the
pink sand. On the south of Crete, visit Frangokastello Castle with
it's famous ghost story and enjoy the quiet and beautiful beach.
The landscape of Crete is dramatic. The interior of the island
is rugged and the mountains are pierced with spectacular gorges,
the most famous of which is Samaria Gorge, Europe's longest and
a popular destination for hikers.

Xanthi: The Prefecture of Xanthi, starts from the
mountains of Rodopi with the virgin forests and the rich flora and
fauna. Between these mountains is the fertile valley of Xanthi with
rich agricultural production. The Delta of river Nestos, the water
biotopes, Vistonida lake, the beaches. The prefecture of Xanthi
has it all. Mountains, valleys, sea.
According to
mythology here was the base of operations of god Aris and Voreas.
Vistonida lake is connected with Hercules deed with the horses of
Diomedes.
At Xanthi you can undertake a number of Activities like river rafting
and trekking.

Santorini: Santorini, a creation of peeved nature, due
to her special history and legends that follow her, the traditional
settlements and the vivid cosmic life, has conquered the whole world.
It is the southest island of Cyclades. It is an island with long
history that has suffered a lot of catastrophes due to volcano eruptions
that have changed its shape. But human power turned to be stronger
than rough nature. Today the -almost- lunar scenery with the black,
grey and red volcanic rocks has turned into a white state. The mild
architecture of Cyclades islands has changed the island's sight.
The graphic villages, with the narrow cobblestone pavements, the
small squares and their churches impress every visitor. View to
volcano that most tourist resorts have- is spectacular. The picture
is unique especially sunset. Photos of Santorini's sunset are all
around the world. At dawn all visitors run to Kaldera to see the
reddish sky. All of Santorini is a site.
The significant
archaeological places (Akrotiri, Ancient Thera) the museums, the
monasteries, the churches, the tenable settlements, the volcano,
all pieces of a puzzle that join yesterday with today and prove
how special Santorini is.
Vivid life tempos characterize Santorini. It's one of the most cosmopolitan
islands in Greece with tourist development. It offers high standard
services to all visitors
.
As for accommodation you will find hotels and rooms to let of all
categories that satisfy all demands. Concerning gastronomic delights,
Santorini's cuisine is famous for its special dishes, you can accompany
with the local wine. Concerning nightlife

Mykanos:
The magic of Greece is in its very ambiguity, in the tensions that
pull it from one wonderful, delicious extreme to the other. The
senses are pleased and pampered by the serene beauty of Greece found
in the depth of its vistas, the spectacular sunrises and sunsets,
and the radiance of the light that even the poets cannot adequately
describe. The senses are titillated and tempted, also by Greece's
extremes, found in the food and drink, flesh, nightlife, music,
and the burning sun. These tensions intrigue and mystify the visitor—the
barbarian who comes to the shores of Greece—but they are perfectly
understandable to the Greeks who live everyday with the conflicting
realities of life in the land of the gods.
Mykonos is famous
world-wide for its chalk-white beauty and its vibrant night life.
Celebrities and dignitaries from all over the world make this island
a destination to shop, sun bathe, party, and island hop, and cruise
ships from all over the world come here. It is not unusual when
walking through the white-washed streets of the town center, called
Hora, to see a world famous model or movie star gazing into a jewelry
store while munching on a cheese pie, looking very much like Audrey
Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffanys." The glorious golden
and jewel-studded rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces displayed
in the windows of the jewelry artists of Mykonos will bedazzle even
the most sophisticated celebrity.
The contrasts
on Mykonos can best be seen early on a Sunday morning, between 6
and 8 am. During these times, worshippers returning to their homes
share the streets with night people who have recently left the clubs
and discos. Widows covered by traditional black dresses and head
scarves pass young women scantily attired; each group stares in
amazement at the other, saving their caustic comments for when they
are safely out of earshot. Men and women selling produce from their
donkeys stand far from young rent boys trying to make one more score
before the "night" ends. Music from nearby clubs plays
softly, perhaps in deference to the hundreds of church bells tolling
all over the island.

Thessaloniki: Is a very different
city from Athens but no less sophisticated and (some might say)
culturally superior. The influence of the east is more pronounced,
not just in the delicious food, but in the relaxed lifestyle. It's
a big city with an almost college town feel, like Boston or Austin,
but Greek.
The
nightlife is exceptional, the bars and clubs play great music. The
restaurants and ouzeries are among the best in Greece. There are
many cinemas showing first-run English language films. The city
is also the site of the renowned Thessaloniki Film Festival in October-November.
The women, considered the most chic in Greece, support a high-fashion
industry that rivals Athens so if you like to shop for clothes,
shoes and jewelry you will be quite happy here.
There
are not a large number of ancient ruins within the city but there
are enough Roman and Byzantine sites to keep any visitor happy,
plenty of museums and of course the ruins of Vergina which include
the tomb of Phillip, father of Alexander the great. It's also a
good starting point for seeing some of the best beaches and most
beautiful spots in Greece in the region known as Macedon
